Walking in the Lake District, I felt my right foot getting wet. The weather was reasonable so I did not put the one year old boots through the toughest of tests.
I mentioned the problem to a shop assistant in Ambleside who said that Scarpa look after their customers.
And so they do; brand new boots are ready for walking. Many thanks to Scarpa and to Open Air, Cambridge, UK, who looked after me.
Nephew, Robert Jefferies, has started the St Agnes Physiotherapy Clinic and launched the website. It looks great and let us hope that business booms. However lots of work needs to be done on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as the site is struggling to come to the top on Google.
Robert transformed a patients life by helping the very determined man get off his bed and walk to his electric scooter. The patient is no longer confined to home but can silently enjoy the wonderful world of St Agnes and keep up with all his friends.
The clinic is next door to the boxing club which is run by the proprietor of the St Agnes Hotel, former champion boxer Billy English. Looking forward to staying with him over Christmas and looking at his scrap book.
Three bits of good news:
The Cambridge College of Emergency Medicine ran it’s first intensive revision course. Top people lectured from 8:00am to 9:00pm on the Saturday and from the same start time on Sunday to a finish at 6:00pm. Two long days left one or two of the students exhausted and need of caffeine breaks! Twenty students hardly moved for the two days and let us hope all the hard work results in good exam passes. Well done to Cong, James and team.
My Chief Lodger is leaving the start up she joined two years ago for a new life in Berlin. The start up now employs nearly twenty people and is doing well in the app marketing space. The one in Berlin is backed by VCs. So let battle commence!
Rumours from DuoFertility are that the last fund raising round has closed and was oversubscribed so on we go. These start-up journeys require stamina and most show a tough haul rather than a hockey stick!
All these entrepreneurs are working so hard to build value. Should they have joined the world of management consultancy and be travelling first class or serving thirty years in the public sector and being rewarded with full pension rights at 56 years old? The latter must be worth a million in anyones money!
