Websites for conception

There are a number of products available on the web to help the 1 in 7 couples who have difficulty in conception – I think that is defined as trying for one year with no result (pregnancy). Let us look at their websites to see how they compare.

A Google search for “conception”gives a result of 51.6million pages, with only seven sponsored links, and ConceptionHealth .co.uk comes out top. It is not clear who they are, what they do (information only?) and there are no Grant Dain “Calls to Action”.

From my investment in DuoFertility, I know that there are at least three competitors. So let us compare their websites from a quick scan. A search for Babybomp brings you to sites for Ladycomp – confusing but it is quite clear what they do but there are no Calls to Action. The first sentence is “As safe as the pill if used properly”. So a contraception site I guess. Next on to Cyclotest with a site in German. Can they not recognise that I am a UK user? Is it a dynamic website? I move on. Lastly a search for Persona sends me to an error site so I give up.

This website business is trickier than it looks.  The adverts on Sky News give very clear Calls to Action – when you pay big bucks you need big returns.

Disclosure: I am an investor in DuoFertility.
