Algorithms to success

A top group of Silicon Valley angels has backed two recent Oxford graduate to develop YouNoodle – pity about the name. I guess you add a magic ingredient (money) to the start-up noodles and you have something to glug. Mind you they had to move to Silicon Valley – what a hardship! If there algorithm identifies a Google-like start-up, will they abandon tools and join another ship. There is a great description an algorithm:
“just because some data is fuzzy & qualitative in nature doesn’t mean it can’t be statistically significant and/or meaningful.

as any young male will tell you, the ability to spot a member of the opposite sex at 200 hundred yards away, from behind, wearing a raincoat, etc… is often enough data to make a meaningful assessment & potentially life-changing decision 😉

all that matters is whether the algorithm they’re using has enough data to make relevant decisions & gets it right often enough to be more than random. or, at least less random than your average VC 😉

best of luck to them.”

So the business plan resource Equity Fingerprint has a chance to help people which is great news. It needs a comment on the YouNoodle site as Geoff would say.
