From the real world: Martin and Mandy Curtis love their bowls but could not find a good shop in East Anglia. First step: identify market need. Fifteen years ago, they opened a shop, Bowlsworld, to supply bowls and wanted to expand. In the old days, that would have meant a shop or two or ten. Instead they went global in 2001 on the Internet. “We now regularly ship orders to the USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, Cyprus, Tenerife, Jersey, and Ireland. We have also completed orders to South Africa, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Thailand, Israel, Germany and Russia, and of course the UK.”
