GRP Partners’ Mark Suster writes a blog post on in AlwaysOn saying be careful with who and how many you get into bed with.
At the same time Fred Wilson blogs that his firm and two others have just funded www.kik.com to be the new SMS service on mobiles – SMS but without the per message cost as the messages go out over the Internet. It is an $8million series A funding.
So you need to think through your strategy and be comfortable with the number and quality of your partners. Use a business plan resource to help you think through the process.
The picture on the www.kik.com site shows a large team of thirteen people (unlucky?) gathered round a brown car. Not sure why a car but there must be some message (sic) in there. No comments on who has funded the business so far. Wonder if the lucky thirteen all have founder shares or do some have staff options?
