Very interesting reading the Richest Man in the World list.
The richest is Carlos Slim Helú who runs his Passive Equity Company in Mexico. Very different from the number 2, Bill Gates and number 3, Warren Buffet, who both run Active Equity Companies.
Microsoft is reputed to have created a few billionaires and 10,000 millionaires. And created a new industry of software companies.
Carlos Slim Helu must be an amazing operator but the the likes of Bill Gates must get the thrill of building companies in which everyone wins. I will never forget allocating shares which changed people’s lives. I cannot understand companies that do not promote option schemes. Such a dull way to live!
