Sometime Cambridge entrepreneur, Amanda Staveley, has built on her Newmarket connections which she made when running her restaurant Stocks, Bottisham (between Cambridge and Newmarket). After a “local difficulty” with the Q.ton Forum, she enjoyed a “romance” with Prince Andrew, someone who also has strong connections in the Middle East. Now Staveley has appreared as senior partner of PCP Capital Partners (no website avaiable?) and has masterminded the purchase of Manchester City Football Club.It would be good if Cambridge could use this connection to attract investment both in the university and the Cambridge Cluster by Sheik Mansoor bin Zayed and the Abu Dhabi United Group. It is difficult to imagine someone being worth £500billion.
