The Telegraph Top 1000 list in the telecom.technology section has no Cambridge Cluster people in the first ten. Only Charles Dunstone (43) of Carphone Warehouse and Sir James Dyson (60) of Dyson are founders and entrepreneurs and only the latter owns 100% of his business which is still a private company. The Cambridge Cluster has failed to hit the big time with an entrepreneur and we are a long way short of our first billionaire – so very different from Silicon Valley. This has the knock on effect that there is a limit of angel funding for the next wave of companies.
