Fred Wilson outperforms the average VC’s investment portfolio of companies that 1/3 do well, 1/3 “living dead” and 1/3 fail (his stats are more 40%, 40% and 20%) which is why he can keep raising new funds. In a great post, the figure that caught my eye was that he averages two new investments each year. What would be the figures for the average entrepreneur – one hundred VCs approached and one offer? It is a mug’s game being an entrepreneur for most people!
